I was born and raised in New York City, and I am the son of a Greek immigrant. My dad came to the U.S. to live the “American Dream,” and we have been fortunate enough to experience the freedoms and opportunities that weren’t necessarily available to him outside of the U.S.
One day I decided to live a more minimalistic life. I started going through my closet to figure out what I actually needed and what I was holding on to for reasons I still don’t know why to this day.
During this process, I noticed that most of what I had was not made in the USA. While this is not a “bad” thing, this revelation swayed my heart because I began to feel that I wasn’t doing my part in giving back to American businesses, or “paying it forward” so future generations can experience the same freedoms and opportunities that my dad and I have enjoyed.
That’s how the American List started.
I decided I was going to start giving back by making a more conscious effort and buying American-made products from local U.S. companies.
If you are on a similar journey, then The American List is a resource to help you find and support some of my favorite American-made products and local U.S. companies.
Think of The American List as a guide to help you support veteran-owned companies and small businesses right here in the U.S.
That’s it. No political agenda.
The American List is for all Americans regardless of your political affiliation or beliefs because at the end of the day, we are all Americans who want to support our economy and provide a better life for the next generation.
